Northern Beaches Youth Theatre is About to Make History

Something genuinely rare is happening in Warriewood this month. A group of teenagers from the Northern Beaches are about to perform the international premiere of a brand new play; meaning this story, these characters, this production will be seen here first. Before anywhere else in the world. 🌏

That's not a marketing line. That's just what's happening on June 18th.

The Play

Gale, written by Emily Golden, is inspired by The Wizard of Oz… but don't let that fool you. This isn't a fairy tale. It's a sharp, funny and genuinely moving story about what it feels like to be the new kid. No friends, no dog, immediately in the crosshairs of the queen bee and her flying cheerleaders. Sound familiar? 😅

Set in a modern high school with a magical twist, Gale tackles friendship, belonging, courage and what "home" really means… with humour, heart and more than a few surprises.

The Company

Northern Beaches Youth Theatre has been building something special in this community; a place where teens aged 12–17 don't just learn to perform, they learn to show up, speak up and connect with each other. Gale is their biggest moment yet. 🎭
